He's got a major case of survivors guilt, PTSD, and is faced with a major decision to either stay in the Navy and have even more responsibility and people under his watch or to get out now. I am assuming that there are some newer features which this book probably does not cover. *Enlightenmentreminded me of Khalil Gibran's books, especially The Prophet, that I read in the early 80'sand probably lost with so many other good reads in the flood of' '97'. I absolutely loved it though and the very ending made my jaw drop. Men who lack guilt can be brilliant, aggressive, even audacious leaders and, so long as they are "winning", they can accomplish amazing things.
