I can understand the disappointment of many of Walter Mosley's fans with this book; superficially, it has very little in common with his crime fiction. pre marriage(pre-sexual intercourse) and "Baritone Tiny" (post-sexual intercourse) husband, dad, lover. Everyoneincluding my literature-loving selfwas distracted within a minute of this reading. This book is brilliant. One of my all time favorite Christmas books.
